Description:

This is a mounted specimen of "Robin Hood" a Dalston Black-Red gamecock. Dalston was a centre for cockfighting in the nineteenth century. The bird was a prize fighter and has entered local legend. The gamecock is still used as Dalston's symbol, along with motto 'while I live, I crow'.
